Issue Position

This commonwealth has a large and growing senior population, and we must be prepared to help them age with dignity. I will protect property tax and rent rebates, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), and low cost prescription drugs. Our state lottery also funds other important programs for seniors that we need to continue, concentrating on community-based institutional services that provide better outcomes, higher quality of life, and are far more cost-effective. I also want to increase funding for home-care aides to allow more of our neighbors to stay in their homes longer. While Medicare is a federal, not a state program, I will always advocate for it and other programs that help seniors.
